Glen Echo Park Wedding | Sara & Hawk

Glen Echo Park Wedding Couple Portrait Outside Dentzel Carousel

Sara & Hawk’s Glen Echo Park wedding in Maryland perfectly reflected their love for unique spaces filled with character and history. As wedding planners, Glen Echo Park is one of our favorite wedding venues. Once an amusement park and now a vibrant community arts center, the park’s nostalgic charm and creative energy made it the ideal venue for them. The whimsical bumper car pavilion and the beautifully restored Dentzel Carousel added to the playful vibe of the day.

How They Met

They first met online and hit it off instantly on a date that started at a cozy used bookstore and ended with drinks at a bar. After years of talking about marriage, Sara decided to propose to Hawk during a quiet evening at home, well ahead of their original timeline.

Everything Neon at Glen Echo Park Weddings

One of the elements that made their day unforgettable was the vintage neon lights, which beautifully illuminated their couple portraits and created stunning photos with an elegant art deco influence, adding a touch of timeless sophistication.

Planner's Perspective on Sara & Hawk's Glen Echo Park Wedding

What made Sara & Hawk’s Glen Echo Park wedding truly special were all the personal touches woven throughout the day. They beautifully incorporated several Jewish traditions, including the Circling during the ceremony, their Ketubah signing, and a stunning Chuppah lovingly constructed by their family.

But it didn’t stop there—friends and family poured their hearts into every little detail. Hand-crocheted stars adorned the reception tables, adding a sentimental touch. A close friend surprised everyone with custom matchboxes as a sweet keepsake for the couple and guests. Another dear friend donated her talents to create gorgeous floral arrangements, which added color to the ceremony, cocktail tables, and reception decor.

Every element felt like a reflection of the love and care their community has for Sara & Hawk. You could see it in every detail and feel it in every moment. It was a joy to witness such a heartfelt celebration of two people so cherished by those around them.

Kristy Silva, Wedding Planner

Meet Kristy

Hey there! I grew up in the dry heat of Phoenix, AZ but now live in my favorite swamp, Washington D.C. My dream job? Owning a cat cafe. Just kidding (kind of). I’ve wanted to be a wedding planner for as long as I can remember. But not just any planner. The cis-heteronormativity of the wedding industry kind of gives me the ‘ick,’ so I’ve built a team to help all couples celebrate their love in a way that feels good to them. Not how society says ‘this is what a wedding should look like.
