If you’re searching for a wedding venue that feels timeless, light-filled, and effortlessly elegant no matter the season, The Atrium at Meadowlark deserves a spot at the very top of your list. Nestled within the beauty of Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, Virginia, this venue offers couples the rare combination of nature, versatility, and comfort. It has become one of our favorite spaces for weddings in every season.
At Weddings by Kristy, we’re always looking for venues that let couples make the day their own while also giving guests an unforgettable experience. Time and time again, the Atrium delivers.
Why an Atrium at Meadowlark Wedding Is Perfect Any Time of Year
One of the Atrium’s greatest strengths is its ability to transform seamlessly with the seasons. Because of its indoor garden feel and abundant natural light, the Atrium allows couples to plan their weddings without worrying about weather affecting the aesthetic or comfort of their guests. The glass-enclosed building lets guests admire the gardens as they shift beautifully from spring blooms to lush summer greens, warm autumn tones, and even serene winter landscapes.
- Spring & Summer: Bright, airy ceremonies surrounded by fresh florals and vibrant greenery.
- Fall: Rich colors, cozy elegance, and golden-hour portraits just steps away.
- Winter: An indoor warm, intimate atmosphere with garden views, without worrying about the cold.
No matter the month, couples get the best of both worlds: the romance of an outdoor setting with the reliability of an indoor venue.

Hosting Your Wedding at The Atrium at Meadowlark
If you’re considering an Atrium at Meadowlark wedding, here’s a closer look at what makes hosting your big day here so special and seamless.
A Stunning Indoor Garden Setting
The Atrium is a breathtaking glass-enclosed structure with three walls of windows and a cathedral-like ceiling, bringing the outdoors in with year-round panoramic views of Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. Inside, you’ll find live trees adorned with twinkle lights, a babbling stream, and an abundance of natural light, creating a romantic and organic atmosphere no matter the season.
Atrium at Meadowlark Wedding Cost
The cost of hosting your wedding at the Atrium varies based on the month and day of the week.
Capacity & Layout
The Atrium comfortably accommodates up to 200 guests for a seated reception with room for a dance floor, however, we find that under 150 is optimal for comfort and flexibility.

Versatile Photography Options
While the Atrium itself serves as a stunning backdrop for your ceremony and reception, couples can also take advantage of other picturesque spots on the property. You and your photographer can plan photos throughout the gardens, including in the greenhouse and various gazebos.
The Atrium also offers a golf cart rental, including a driver, to save you time traversing the gardens. If you want photos further out than the greenhouse, we highly recommend adding the golf cart rental to your booking.

Catering & Services
All catering and bartending is handled through Great Blue Heron (GBH) Catering, the venue’s exclusive catering team. They offer a range of service options, including plated, dual plated, and buffet. You can use an outside caterer, but a “pass-through” fee applies. Your Atrium event manager will handle all communication and coordination with GBH.

Convenience & Comfort
The Atrium provides climate-controlled comfort, ample free parking, and accessibility for all guests, a thoughtful combination that ensures your celebration is both beautiful and comfortable.
Though not required, many couples choose to book a shuttle service from their hotel block to the venue and back to the hotel at the end of the night. We also see many couples rent limos or mini-buses for them and their wedding party.

Real Weddings at the Atrium at Meadowlark
Weddings by Kristy has had the privilege of planning many Atrium at Meadowlark weddings. Each celebration felt completely unique, while still highlighting what makes the venue so special.
Here are just a few of our incredible couples who chose an Atrium at Meadowlark Gardens wedding:
Guadalupe & Mark
“Working with Kristy was a delight from the beginning, very professional, very responsive, full of ideas, etc. Initially, we did not appreciate how much effort is required to plan and coordinate a wedding but soon realized that ours would have been a disaster without Kristy. She helped us make it unique for us; she managed the various vendors and had every activity set out in a very detailed timeline.”

Caolán & Chase
“By far the best investment we made in our wedding was booking Weddings by Kristy. Kristy and the team were always super responsive and got back to us so quickly on any questions or concerns. Our wedding day would have been significantly more stressful for us and our families if we hadn’t hired WBK — and the music wouldn’t have been as good! Instead, we were able to relax and enjoy the party. Our wedding was absolutely perfect in every way, and a huge part of that was thanks to Kristy and her team.”

Abby & Ashkan
“Choosing to hire WBK was one of the best decisions we made in planning our wedding. Kristy was extremely knowledgeable and always knew what questions to ask when we had no idea what we were doing. We love how intentional WBK was spotlighting LGBTQIA couples in her marketing and resources. Having someone take over a lot of the coordination closer to our wedding day allowed us time to live our lives in the months leading up. We recommend her to everyone we know who’s recently gotten engaged.”

Amanda & Will
“Highly recommend! Kristy was incredibly kind and easy to work with. She was always very responsive and thoroughly answered our MANY questions. Kristy provides a wealth of resources to assist with your planning and organization and ensures no single detail is missed. It was very easy to enjoy ourselves on our wedding day and let things go because we knew Kristy had it covered. Kristy exceeded our wedding planning expectations.”

Guest Experience Matters
One of the most overlooked, yet most important, aspects of any wedding day is how your guests experience it. The Atrium at Meadowlark excels not only in beauty, but in comfort, flow, and overall ease for everyone attending.
From the moment guests arrive, the experience feels intentional and welcoming. Ample on-site parking and clearly marked pathways make arrival and departure smooth, while the venue’s fully climate-controlled indoor setting ensures comfort regardless of the season. Summer weddings stay cool and refreshing, while winter celebrations feel warm and inviting, no coats required.
Inside the Atrium, the layout allows guests to move naturally throughout the event. Ceremonies, cocktail hours, and receptions can all take place within the same space, minimizing transitions and eliminating the need for transportation between locations. This creates a relaxed pace that allows guests to stay present and enjoy each moment rather than worrying about logistics.
The venue is also highly accessible, making it easy for guests of all ages and mobility levels to feel included and comfortable. Spacious walkways, nearby restrooms, and thoughtfully designed seating arrangements contribute to a stress-free experience.
For not just guests but also the couple, one of the most memorable elements is the setting itself. The floor-to-ceiling windows, indoor trees, softly lit stream, and surrounding gardens provide a unique environment that feels immersive and elevated, offering plenty to admire even between formal moments. Many guests have commented that it feels like stepping into a private garden celebration rather than a traditional event venue.
More importantly, for couples, this elevated guest experience brings peace of mind. Knowing that friends and family are comfortable, entertained, and able to fully enjoy the celebration allows couples to relax and truly savor their wedding day.
